I am a Texas Rangers fan and attend as many home games as my schedule will allow. Every once in a while during the season I got to watch a game with Former President Bush, from a distance of course. Whenever the former President was at the game there was always lots of applause and chants of "Double-U!" from the home crowd of Texans who still remember the GWB who stood on the smoldering remains of a fire truck and inspired a nation. There were also plenty of people who liked to make snide remarks and remind those around them of the funny way he said "nuclear" or of him trying to open a locked door. But during one of those games I overheard someone make a snide comment to his wife having to do with his opinion of President Bush’s I.Q. but then he paused and said, "but, it sure was nice having a President who actually likes America".
To me that anonymous fan summed up the entire Obama Presidency, a President who doesn't seem to like America.
In an appearance on Fox News Channel http://video.foxnews.com/v/1174769475001/rick-perry-on-hannity/ during September, Governor Perry said, “We need to nominate someone who has a stark, clear difference between the Republican nominee and President Obama,” he said. “We don’t need to nominate Obama-Lite.”
Once again Governor Perry showed that clear distinction between himself and Obama when he outlined his commitment to Americans and those who serve her during the CBS/The National Journal Debate Saturday night.
So to my anonymous baseball fan friend out there, vote for Perry, because it sure will be nice to have a President who actually likes America again.
